This is my last post for Singapore on this trip.

2 days at Geylang, a nostalgia place which I enjoyed quite much though this place not too popular among my friends icon:face3_kao17. All budget hotels gathered around Geylang icon:face3_kao06

Then, we had Megazip at Sentosa Island. That was great~icon:face_self-conscious_smile All the way from the mountain to the ocean icon:face_self-conscious_smile

Stayed 1 night at Marina Bay Sands hotel (the main purpose on this trip), mostly just for it’s infinity pool → the sky poolicon:mark3_sign01
Had a romantic night icon:h_heart09 too at the sky park icon:face_shyicon:h_heart08

Overall, Singapore is a city with lightsicon:o_flair very happening and fun icon:face3_kao06

At last, the infinity panoramic city view Sky Pool icon:mark3_sign03 icon:face_self-conscious_smile

This is one of where we wanted to experience after seeing some promotion articles from Marina Bay Sands hotel icon:h_kira01 icon:h_heart05 though my passion was mostly for it’s sky park poolicon:h_heart05

Day 3 of Singaporeicon:mark3_sign03 icon:face3_kao07icon:h_sweat02..my updates are so slow.. icon:face3_kao17

Anyway, in day 3 we transfered to Marina Bay Sands Hotel, which actually our main reason this time to Singapore icon:face3_kao07icon:h_shine – for it’s infinity panoramic city view sky poolicon:mark3_sign03icon:face3_kao09icon:h_kira01

This hotel is known as a 5 stars hotel icon:w_7_star

Marina Bay Sands - Hall

and I expected a more welcoming reception and a more luxurious lobby icon:face_shy

Never expected that a new, big known hotel lobby could be like a shopping mall full of people standing around talking loudly with no lounge or sofas visible for a rest..icon:face3_kao18 the atmosphere here is just not so right for what to be expected..

Marina Bay Sands - Lobby

A lil’ bit of disappointment here..

Anyhow, I was very much more expecting a great time at the pool thoughicon:mark3_sign03icon:face3_kao06

Once we stepped in to our room, I can’t believe that I spent quarter of the day just wow-ing and camwhoring around the room.. icon:face3_kao20

Day 2 Singapore, in Sentosa Island
★2011/04/10 04:15

Halo~

I’m lagging in updating my trip blog.. icon:face3_kao19 and my YouTube Halo~ Konnichiwa trip-log is going to Cambodia next.. icon:face3_kao17 ..so much left behind here.. icon:face3_kao18

Anyway, we were in Singapore. – the first place in our trip schedule.

See Day 1 in Singapore

Day 2, we went to Sentosa Island for a walk with my friend, Brenda icon:a2_down

Brenda

My school-mate since primary~ icon:face3_kao06

Sentosa Island is a man-made island with a man-made beach, a very happening beach with all sort of activities icon:body_run_away_lefticon:body_run_away_right

Sentosa man-made ocean

Nice place to have fun in Singapore. But for me, everything was quite pricey.. icon:face3_kao21

At least, we tried ONE of all activitiesicon:mark3_sign01icon:face3_kao09icon:h_shine

Journey to Singapore!
★2011/03/08 00:10

I lied..
I said I’ll be updating my trip on my blog xxx days? ago and I didn’t..
icon:face3_kao21

Sorry..and I hate it too when I’m being lazy..
icon:face2_despair
at least I made new video very often now on YouTube!
icon:o_tv2
icon:h_kira01

Anyway, I’m gonna blog on my lil’ trip around Asia
icon:face_self-conscious_smile
icon:w_1_sun
I’m sharing tips of backpacking and for those who loves travelling!
icon:an_snail
icon:p_futaba

I’ve moved my whole house from Tokyo to Hokkaido! I had my last few days at my old house in Tokyo trying to clean and pack everything and send everything to Hokkaido home~

We had to depart straight to Malaysia from Tokyo after the house-moving..
Didn’t really had time to really really organized my trip to the MAX, but I did make a lot of research and planned my schedule for a BackPack
icon:h_note
icon:w_1_sun
icon:p_futaba

My planned schedule 2 months before we depart
icon:a2_down

.
.
.

Schedule trip to Asia

icon:body3_te03

All prices in that schedule are for two unless it was written there for one!!

And so we departed on the 6th of October 2010 from Narita (Tokyo) to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur), 3 of us, Mami, Yapi, and me
icon:p_hana-ani01

There’re various ways to Narita from Tokyo and this time we took the New Skyliner which we have not been on one before!
icon:ya_s_bullettrain

icon:h_f01

Only
36 mins
icon:mark3_sign03
 – it has always been an hour to Narita
icon:an_snail
icon:a3_leftright
icon:an_usagi

The New Skyliner now is,

icon:body2_a_good
 More spacious!
icon:body2_a_good
 Well-designed!
icon:body2_a_good
 Faster!

Skyliner train to Narita
At the vending machine corner inside Skyliner
icon:ya_s_shinkansen

Yeah, I went to a few places in Malaysia but I guess I wanna keep Malaysia as my last one to blog
icon:face3_kao07

So on the 22 October, we took 5hours in a bus instead of 45mins in a plane from Malaysia to Singapore..
icon:face3_kao17

The reason is, coz the bus is way more cheaper
icon:mark3_sign03
and the bus was great compare to any of the budget flights!

Aeroline bus

AEROLINE
bus, is comfortable with big seats, lounge in the bus with big TV, yummy lunch is served, and the service captain was really PRO and polite
icon:face3_kao06

Price
RM90
(from Bandar Utama, Malaysia → Harbour Front, Singapore)
RM70
(back to Malaysia!)

Not a waste of time at all even if took 5 hours all the way to Singapore! Experiencing the journey is one of an excitement too!

icon:body3_te03

This bus series a lil’ bit boring.. but yeah, just get an idea how does the bus looks like!!
icon:ya_b_car01
icon:h_mystify

And so, we arrived!

Basically, I haven’t been to Singapore since I was a kid and I didn’t really know how it works in Singapore..

When I first arrived in Singapore
icon:a2_down

We arrived at Harbour Front and I didn’t know whether I should take a cab or the subway to my hotel..

Just walked around, to the mall, up and down, till we saw a MRT station in the mall!!
icon:ya_b_bus

I know I need to go to Aljunied Station
icon:mark3_sign01
 where my hotel is
icon:yb_hotel
icon:h_kira01

Singapore MRT signage

A sign at the MRT station reminding parents that their kids are now old enough that you have to PAY!!

It takes only 10mins ~ 15mins from Harbour Front to Aljunied station
icon:ya_b_bus
icon:h_f01

In Aljunied, again we have to look at the map to search for the hotel..
icon:f_been

A hotel 20mins away from the station.. and we’ve walked for an hour (or more!!) to reach
icon:mark3_sign03

icon:face3_kao18
icon:h_sweat01

On the way, we walked pass all these old shops

I always have an image that Singapore is a big city with modern buildings everywhere
icon:yb_building
icon:yb_hotel
icon:h_kira02

But when I first arrived here, I was impressed
icon:face_self-conscious_smile
icon:h_heart04

I love old retro stuffs, love the atmosphere, and the feel of nostalgia

icon:face_shy

I’m glad that I chose this place to stay for the first 2 days in Singapore!
icon:h_note

By the way, this place is called
Geylang
.

Geylang
is an old town of Singapore, a town which is kept as it has been since the past 20 years.
It is not a place pretty much straightened-up. Quite a lot of snack bars (prostitution) around
Geylang
as well. Girls walking alone in Geylang, be descent or you will be the target of hunger-for-sex uncles on the street!
icon:face4_kao-a07

Geylang
is also a place where all the budget hotels are gathered!!!
