Yesterday’s Snow Report
No NG today~ Yay!
But a lil’ bit ran out of intonation..
17 December 2009
Today’s Snow Report
Snow falling Non-STOP for the past 4 days!
And this has lead to an GRAND OPENING for Hanazono Ski Resort hoho~
I like this video of all the others that I’ve done so far.
Coz, Kamonohashi was there and I speak like I am having FUN
Anyway, Kamonohashi is a duck character representing the resort!
You know what, he is a master of Karate, an expert of ski and snowboarding, a crazy dancing king, but just that he doesn’t talk or quack~ kaka
Here some pics of the first few days when I arrived to Niseko!
Attention
You need to book a bus before you arrived to Sapporo New Chitose Airport to Niseko!
No Booking No Bus Remember
Cz I was NOT told that I need to book for a bus and I could nearly ended up staying the night at the airport freeeeeeezing!
Info counter girl told me there will be no bus without a booking and I thought WTF
What kind of a treat is this and they said I’m the winner..
Luckily, there was a bus which was not occupied and I got in heading off to Niseko 30mins later..
It snowed on the day I arrived and even heavier the next day.
But I just did not see why people are saying snow in Niseko is powder.
It was not powder yet back then even though it has snowed.
It was still a lil’ wetty and I thought,
“hmm, so this is the famous powder huh…”
Until today, it has proved me totally wrong
The powder falls later after the rain last Sunday and this place is totally magnificent now
Gonna tell more with more beautiful pics later!!

Hanazono TV Daily Powder Report Debut!★2009/12/13 18:55
Hello Konnichiwa
Today’s my 8th day in Niseko
I’m so laaaaaged of updating my days in Niseko where I’m sooooooo want to update everything that happens!
I was clueless about everything when I first arrived.
This place is amazingly so international than I thought. English is everywhere.
And, I kinda not speaking English for quite sometime and I was not used to speak in English nowadays… Slightly stressful here but a good chance to brush up. In fact, this is till Japan and I’m brushing up my English (converse) in Japan…
In a place outside of Tokyo, it’s best to have a car! There’s not much train here.
Without a car, it’s just not convenient.
Now I can only either depend on someone with a car (which I don’t really feel like to, coz it’s just troublesome) or getting on to a bus OR my feet on the icy slippery roads. Luckily, there’s still a convenient store and the office is not far from where I’m staying now.
But yeah, gonna check out the bus route soon.
I’ve nothing to eat I can’t keep draining my eating out at the moment. I need to cook. But even cooking, I need to prepare everything from the basic! Soy sauce, salt, sugar, oil, pepper, etc seasoning to start off.
Anyway, I’m doing all fine now~!
I’ve started to get used to the environment here, I’ve got all my groceries done, and I’ll be studying the route map of this place soon to explore more!
So, I’ve been here for a week and have apparently started my Daily Snow Report.
Debut on an official internet TV

Report on my second day and I was reeeallly nervous
You know what, I got 54 ‘NG’s takes before I got through with it…
And I speak toooooo fast
9 December 2009
Less NG this time…but still nervous and not able to speak naturally with what I’m saying
10 December 2009
I loooovee the background view for this report
It was just simply magnificent
And that’s me! Half way through the video, that’s me having my first SKI lesson
Damn clumsy.. but tell you more about my very first lesson later.
Well, for the report, getting better I guess but still not fully confident yet without memorizing my script. It’s harder than you thought it might be in front of a camera..
11 December 2009
Yay! Almost no NG today
That day was a great sunny day with not even a cloud to be seen but the temperature was only -3 in the morning
Cold~
Dong~ Dong~ Dong~
12 December 2009
A rainy day due to a change of weather before the powder snow returns~!
That’s why we were indoors filming the Snow Report.
And I realized that I made a mistake in the end after watching this..
That’s all for the week of report!
New and fresh for me and more to learn still
Though everything is still not settled comfortably and kinda hard for me for the first week,
yeah, I’m soooo not going to waste this opportunity and soooooooo gonna get myself to have FUN on the Powder Snow this whole season
p/s: I know I’ve promised to upload my snow pictures a few days ago, but real sorry that I haven’t. Will be up soooooon!

Can I be your Daily Snow Reporter?★2009/11/28 04:49
I’ll have to be the Daily Snow Reporter if I won.
Can I be the one?
.
.
I’ve no experience at all to present in front of a pro-camera..
I,…I don’t know whether I can even memorize all the given script and speak properly in front of the camera..
I, I,…I’m worrying…
I’ve uploaded my video on the 14th November 2009, a day before the due date.
It was very disappointing at first for it never goes up at all for hours.. (though I know it’s usual..)
And then, about a week later..
But WHY is it popular in Korea and India instead of Japan
I was sooooo excited when it gone up that much
(Although, the winner is not decided just base on the Views or YouTube popularity..)
But…
about another week later…
(It’s understandable if I’m already popular in YouTube like Michelle Phan, etc…but I’m NOT )
And OMG, according to the statistic graph up there, 178 people favorited my video and 185 people rated my video
Why~
I was getting suspicious though…
Is my video getting popular just purely?
……………………………………………………………………………………..
Anyway, I’m still very excited whatever it is for I was announced as the Winner on the 23rd November 2009
Yay
I’m still worried whether I can cope well being an internet TV reporter and everything, but will definitely try my best and will bring my Best Winter in Niseko back to everyone who have supported me on my blog

Best Winter of Your Life in Niseko!★2009/11/18 22:35
Speaking of the Best Job in the World, I did had a great experience when I was trying to think something out of a box to make a wonderful video, communicating while competing with the other contestants, weeks of just sticking onto my computer checking other videos on YouTube days and nights…
At the same, I spent all my precious time dreaming about
the beautiful ocean~
the tranquil of the island~
the white beach sand~
the clear blue sky~
the fun on the island and the excitement under the sea…the Great Barrier Reef
Yeah, just dreaming..
Coz I did not even made through the first stage~
And I LOVE my video.
And so that was only a story in the past..
Now, I’ve a new story.
I’ve just created a new video to participate in a new contest which is quite similar with the above.
What is different is, the contest is limited for only people in Japan, and it’s in winter
So instead of competing internationally, I’m competing only within Japan,
and instead of a blue ocean, I’m gonna see white powder snow covering the whole mountain so beautifully, that it shall makes me touched to cry
Best Winter of Your Life
This campaign is organised by Hanazono Resort Niseko, a new ski resort in Japan
I adore the tropical island and the ocean so much that I’ve always make my ways to visit as many islands as I could .
But snow somehow makes me cry.
The scenery covered by snow is just too amazingly beautiful.
It’s…it’s just magical
Our Earth is just heaven~
Therefore, I just thought I should not missed this opportunity.
You know, if I won this contest,
I’d get paid 1,000,000yen (US$11,111, RM37,000) to enjoy this lil’ piece of heaven the whole winter
But then, you should also know that if I won,
I am needed to stay in the resort for 4 months presenting the Daily Video Snow Report (Monday to Saturday), presenting Weekly Video Blog 3 times a week, and participating in every promotion activities..
which literally means that this is a job
1,000,000yen for 4 months..
1 month = 250,000yen (US$2800, RM9,500) …looks more like a basic salary in Japan kinda
But hey~ MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING!
Of course we are not talking just about money here
Guess what!
I’ll be getting free Ski or Snowboard Equipment from K2 Sports
I’ll be getting free winter wear from Burton
I’ll be getting free ski and snowboard lessons from professionals
I’ll be getting free memorable Photo and Video Album of my Winter by Niseko Photography
Most of all, I’ll be getting the most amazing experience that I never had before
A chance for a Level-up !
If I got chosen of coz
(Nevertheless, still the 1 million yen is essential..)
Check out more about the competition here.
So, there I go with my application video.
Translation
Hi, I’m Ito Haruka.
I came from Malaysia but have been staying in Japan for 6 years.
I’ve grown up in a multi-racial country. Therefore, besides Japanese, I’m also capable in speaking English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.
English
I can read, I can write, I can speak in English. My accent might not be excellent, but trust me, I’m quite familiar with English.
Mandarin
I know how to speak in Mandarin, I know how to speak in Cantonese as well.
Cantonese
But I’m not familiar with the words in either both of them.
Malay
I’m a Malaysian and that should proves my ability in Malay.
I love to blog. I blog about my daily normal life. I blog about my special experiences. I blog about stuffs I care about with my words, pictures, videos, and designs. This has eventually bringing me so much surprises and happiness of knowing new friends and new discoveries.
I of course love the outdoor activities and adventures. I’ve not tried ski or snowboard before but really hoping to experience the REAL powder snow if I got the chance to win this contest. I have full confidence in my enthusiasm.
I hope to tell everyone from all over the world about how amazing Niseko during my days in [Best Winter of My Life in Hanazono Niseko].
The winner will be announced on the 23rd November 2009
But till then, judging will be based on the popularity and number of views in YouTube.
So, pleeeaaaseeee rate and view and spread for meeeeee
Seriously
So that I can blog, blog, blog more about the powder snow~
