Morning WHITE-OUT!
★2010/01/15 15:36

icon:an_usagi 日本語 icon:an_usagi

Today’s a happy day icon:face3_kao06 coz I went for my 6th ski lesson on a powder dayicon:mark3_sign01icon:h_kira02

One of the perfect day to slide through the mountain I supposeicon:h_kira02icon:w_4_snowmanicon:h_kira02

Coz of the big snowfallsicon:h_kira02 but light winds icon:w_2_cloud, groomed runs/tracks back to powder all over in
a glimpseicon:mark3_sign01icon:w_4_snow

Powder powder all the way down icon:face_self-conscious_smile It feels so soft like as if I was stepping on some pillow or something icon:w_2_cloudicon:face_self-conscious_smileicon:w_2_cloud

I don’t really know how to describe very well in words of how amazingly powder is the powder snow is here but maybe if you never tried powder snow before, you can imagine if that you’re in an air-conditioned room full of loose powder icon:mark3_sign03

Erm…weird..

but it’s true that the snow here is totally dry and light! Never get wet at all even getting dumped by snow all dayicon:mark3_sign03 Walking on it feels so nice like as if you’re walking on a very fine white sand beach but powder snow is further more lighter~icon:face_self-conscious_smileicon:h_kira02icon:w_4_snowmanicon:h_kira02icon:h_note3

Anyway, this is how today’s morning looked like.icon:a2_down2icon:h_kira02icon:h_kira02icon:h_kira02

20100115_morning_white_out

Big big snow-powderfalls and it was all WHITE-OUTicon:mark3_sign03icon:h_kira02icon:face4_kao-a17

But it kinda eased down a lil’ bit later on when I had my lesson.

It was bearable and in fact it was more fun when going to ski on a day like this coz the tracks got covered back by snow so quickly icon:face_self-conscious_smile

And actually there was a serious incident happened today..

Biggest happening, biggest snow-incident, biggest injuries..

A ski is dead…real dead..icon:face3_kao12

No idea why..icon:face3_kao17 Looks like it got ripped off or something..

Happy New Year 2010 icon:mark3_sign03icon:h_noteicon:h_kira02icon:face_self-conscious_smileicon:h_kira02

Can’t believe another year has passed..

My 2010 New Year’s resolutions would be..

Be happy, be young, be energetic, be exciting, be challenging and be Richicon:mark3_sign01icon:h_heart04

wahaha icon:face3_kao07

Anyway, snow storm on the first day of 2010 here in Nisekoicon:mark3_sign01icon:h_kira02icon:w_5_typhoonicon:h_kira02

20100102_skiAfter breakfast, time to SKI~icon:mark3_sign01icon:s_skiicon:h_kira02

My 2nd time up to the mountain without an instructor..

The first time when I went up there, I nearly thought that I’m gonna stuck up in the mountain forever for it was almost impossible for me to get down that slope safely icon:face3_kao21

Can’t believe they said that, Silver Dream course, is a course for beginner..

Am I not even at a beginner level icon:h_hatena04 icon:face3_kao13

Well, I’m back to the base safe and sound now…though having a few humpty dumpty fell throughout the whole course..icon:face3_kao13

My 2nd try was not as bad…

Erm…as in ‘falling’..

But having a great snow storm icon:w_5_typhoon up in the mountain…icon:face3_kao21

It was all calm and beautiful down at the base of the mountain..

Never expect it to be a STORM up thereicon:mark3_sign01icon:face3_kao12

It was all WHITE-OUT, can’t see a thing from 2 meters away..icon:face3_kao12

That was really bad and we thought of going down by the lift..

and guess whaticon:h_hatena03 icon:face3_kao13

The wind was too strong and they have to stop the lifts from runningicon:mark3_sign03icon:face3_kao13icon:face3_kao13icon:face3_kao13

OMG..what to do icon:mark3_sign02

We have to ski down..

But we can’t possibly slide down through Silver Dream, coz it was hard even during a clear bright day! Can’t tell what would happen if we go down Silver Dream in this storm..icon:face3_kao12

There’s another beginner course, called Holiday course..

People said, that course should be easier..

So we had no choice but to trust them..

It was not that bad indeed..icon:face3_kao17

There were 1 or 2 steeper slope but other than that, it was fine.icon:face3_kao20

Slide all the way down. SAFEicon:mark3_sign03icon:h_heart05

STORM was scary, but it was kind an experienceicon:mark3_sign01It was excitingicon:mark3_sign01

Somehow, I felt the power of nature through the storm..

Felt through my body that the earth is living..

I think I truly felt in love with the mountainicon:h_heart08

I normally do, but this time is different..it’s just hard to tell..

It’s not just because it looks beautiful..

I felt them living..

It’s the magic of nature..icon:face3_kao22icon:h_kira02

But never should anyone underestimate the mountains. icon:yb_m_mountain in the sense of safety.

Anyway, after the storm ride..
